Experience and Education
As a director within our tax planning and preparation group for Mariner, Geoffrey represents both individuals and businesses with a focus on estate and income tax planning. He also has experience structuring business transactions, including sales and acquisitions as well as taxable and nontaxable mergers.
He began his accounting career at Pannell Kerr Forster where he was responsible for a number of the firm’s larger personal and corporate clients, including multistate, multi-entity, publicly held companies. In 1980, Geoffrey left Pannell Kerr Forster to establish a tax department for a local firm that later became Bremer & Hockenberg. In 2010, Mr. Bremer founded G.M. Bremer & Associates, which was later acquired by Mariner.
He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. He is a member and past president of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Personal Interests
Geoffrey is past president of the Manhattan Beach Rotary. He is a board member of the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation Endowment and the Manhattan Beach Rotary Foundation.
