Brian is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Chartered Financial Consultant.
Experience and Education
Brian is responsible for a variety of strategic growth initiatives for Mariner. He also works closely with teams across the country to raise awareness of the firm’s resources, capabilities and strategic initiatives. He is a frequent speaker for a variety of industry events and host to many of Mariner’s series of videos, including Your Questions, Answered.
Prior to joining Mariner in 2010, Brian was a director at UBS Financial, where he worked with ultra-high-net-worth clients and oversaw planning for the $2 million to $10 million market. In that role, he advised the firm’s wealthiest clients on heavily concentrated equity positions, philanthropic planning and wealth transfer strategies. Before that, Brian was a consultant in the financial planning and tax services department of Ernst & Young, LLP, providing investment and tax strategies to individual and corporate clients.
Brian has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York College at Oneonta and a master’s degree in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Personal Interests
Brian is a board member of Giving the Basics and Kansas State University’s financial planning department.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
