Christina is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, an Accredited Financial Counselor® and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®.
Experience and Education
Christina holds a Ph.D. in personal financial planning from Kansas State University and specializes in the psychology of financial planning. Her professional mission is to train financial advisors and tax professionals to develop evidence-based communication skills grounded in Motivational Interviewing. She believes that skilled, intentional communication enhances the client experience, strengthens advisor–client relationships and accelerates clients’ progress toward their goals.
She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has completed the 2025 Annual Training New Trainers Workshop. Her academic work has been published in the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning, the Journal of Financial Planning and other peer-reviewed journals. She is also the co-recipient of the AFCPE Outstanding Symposium Research Paper Award in 2024.*
Personal Interests
Away from the office, Christina approaches her as mom with love and laughter and enjoys getting lost in a book or exploring far-away lands. She has a soft spot for the elegance roleof ballroom dancing, the drama of telenovelas and the simplicity of a good, long walk.
