James is a certified public accountant, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Experience and Education

James provides clients with personalized wealth management solutions that include financial planning, tax preparation, investing and reporting to help them reach their goals.

Prior to joining Mariner, James was director of wealth management at Cassady Schiller Wealth Management, LLC. Before that, he was a shareholder and portfolio manager at Johnson Investment Counsel and a key team member for establishing the firmwide personal financial counseling group at Ernst & Young LLP.

James holds a BSBA in accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Personal Interests

Away from the office, James enjoys golf, reading, exercising and spending time with his family. James is a long-time member of the Cincinnati Estate Planning Council, member of the Investment Committee for Interact for Health, on Session at Northminster Presbyterian Church and is Treasurer at the Wyoming Golf Club. He also enjoys rooting for the New York Giants and the New York Mets.
