Lou is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and an Enrolled Agent with the IRS.
Experience and Education
Lou works with individuals, families and their wealth advisors to understand their specific needs and priorities, helping them develop advanced planning strategies designed to align with their goals. He leverages Mariner advisors’ collaborative relationships and technical experience to provide customized estate and tax planning strategies. He also focuses on helping clients achieve their charitable and legacy goals through philanthropy and charitable gift planning with non-cash assets
Prior to joining Mariner, Lou was with RSM US, LLP, where he served in the Washington National Tax (WNT) practice and was one of six tax professionals nationwide selected for a WNT rotation. He has advised partners and offices across the country on complex estate, trust and charitable planning issues for ultra-high-net-worth clients. Lou has co-authored and published for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Tax Adviser and the State Bar of Texas.
Lou holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in finance from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
Personal Interests
Away from the office, Lou enjoys competitive table tennis with his wife, provides pro bono financial planning, and has delivered national presentations on evolving tax and estate planning strategies. He is also an Orthodox Christian, an adjunct professor and CFP® instructor at Boston University.
