Experience and Education

Alex provides comprehensive financial advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and their families to help them achieve their goals.

Prior to joining Mariner, Alex worked as an investment analyst and portfolio manager at C.C. Dunnavan, where he analyzed companies to identify those fundamentally undervalued and maintained valuations on individual stocks using a proprietary in-house Excel model. He also built, rebalanced and traded investment portfolios of equity and fixed income, managed vendor relationships and collaborated with external accountants and auditors to help ensure compliance. Earlier in his career, he gained experience as a student teller at Blackhawk Community Credit Union, where he handled client transactions and promoted financial literacy through educational presentations at his high school.

Alex has a bachelor’s degree in applied economics and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Minnesota.

Personal Interests

Away from the office, Alex enjoys playing and coaching hockey, traveling to new places, working on landscaping and home improvement projects and learning from other passionate industry professionals.
