Designations and licenses

Charles holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and has a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.

Experience and education

Charles focuses on understanding clients’ goals and expectations and implementing investment strategies and financial plans to help individuals and families achieve their personal financial objectives. He has more than 20 years of experience as a financial advisor and investment manager.

Prior to joining Mariner, Charles was a vice president and relationship manager at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management, where he provided investment portfolio advice and management for high-net-worth clients. Before that, he was a vice president in the Private Client Group at Altegris Investments Inc. He also served as a vice president and financial consultant at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. He began his investment career as a financial consultant with A.G. Edwards & Sons.

Charles has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rutgers University and an MBA in finance and tax planning from San Diego State University. He is a member of the San Diego CFA Society.

Personal interests

Away from the office, Charles regularly practices Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu and enjoys spending time outdoors, including hiking with his wife, Camille.
