Experience and education

Sean provides comprehensive financial advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and their families to help them achieve their goals.

Prior to joining Mariner, Sean served as a principal and senior portfolio manager at Elk Creek Partners, where he co-founded an institutional money management firm responsible for equity strategy, portfolio construction and risk management. He also founded a specialty coatings business, leading its growth from startup to successful sale, and served as chief financial officer of a privately held company, where he led financial strategy, capital planning, customer and vendor relationships and operational initiatives.

Sean earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wyoming.

Personal interests

Away from the office, Sean enjoys fly fishing, golf and cheering on Denver sports teams as a Denver native. He is also involved with Project Healing Waters and enjoys watching his kids play sports.
