Matthew is a Certified Public Accountant, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Certified Kingdom Advisor®.

Experience and Education

Matthew focuses on tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and their closely held entities. He manages the compliance and planning needs unique to each client.

Prior to joining Mariner, Matthew was a senior tax manager at Aldrich CPAs & Advisors, where he pioneered tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals and worked to develop tools and templates to drive efficiency. Before that, he served clients on attest, tax and consulting engagements at Houck Evarts & Company LLC.

Matthew holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting, finance and business information systems from Oregon State University.

Personal Interests

Away from the office, Matthew is a member of the AICPA and Oregon Society of CPAs. He also serves on the boards of various faith-based organizations and is an avid Portland Timbers and Portland Trail Blazers fan and a sci-fi enthusiast.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP^®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^®, and CFP^® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
