Steven holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Experience and Education

Steven provides wealth management services including retirement, college and tax planning to high-net-worth and mass affluent households. He primarily serves the needs of business owners, corporate executives and retirees, as well as professionals in the financial services, medical, dental and legal fields. Steven has more than 25 years of personal finance and investment management experience.

Prior to joining the firm in 2003, he founded SMS Capital Management, which was acquired by Mariner in 2019.

Steven holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas and an MBA from Tulane University. Steven is the president and board member of CFA Society of Houston.

Personal Interests

He is on the board of trustees for the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Foundation, and advisory boards of The Woods Project and Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Houston and serves on the investment committee at Congregation Beth Yeshurun.
