Russ holds the designations of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Master Planner Advanced Studies^SM and Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Accredited Estate Planner®.

Experience and education

Russ provides comprehensive financial advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and their families. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial planning and investment management industry. 

Prior to joining Mariner, Russ founded Foundations Wealth Management and led the firm in collaborating with clients, their CPA and other professionals to create wealth plans that helped them reach their goals. 

Russ has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of South Dakota and a master’s degree in financial planning from the College of Financial Planning.

Personal interests

Russ enjoys CrossFit, water skiing, water sports and running. He is a father to three and a big fan of Big Ten sports but mainly the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP^®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^®, and CFP^® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
