Experience and Education

Mike provides comprehensive financial planning and investment management services to help clients meet their goals. Prior to joining Mariner, he was a founding partner with Channel Islands Group, a Ventura-based registered investment advisor. Before that he had his own firm utilizing LPL Financial and previously worked at Smith Barney which subsequently became Morgan Stanley.

Mike was also an active-duty officer in the US Navy, serving in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as a surface warfare officer, and stayed in the US Navy Reserves until 2014, leaving as Commander.

Mike has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Naval Postgraduate School with an emphasis in manpower and system’s analysis.

Personal Interests

Mike is a board member for Long Term Care Services of Ventura County OMBUDSMAN. He is also an oenophile and amateur wine critic and enjoys a myriad of athletic pursuits and spending time with his family and three children.
