Experience and Education
David provides clients with personalized wealth management solutions that include financial planning, tax preparation, investing and reporting to help them reach their goals.
Prior to joining Mariner, David was the founder, principal, managing director, portfolio manager and member of the investment committee at Forté Capital LLC. He has over twenty years of experience in the investment, tax, pension and executive financial counseling areas.
Before that, he was a senior investment strategist and portfolio manager at Hessler, Keogh & Millard Associates and a tax accountant at Deloitte & Touche LLP.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance and accounting from Miami University.
Personal Interests
Away from the office, David enjoys skiing, golfing, biking, being involved in the community, philanthropy and spending time with his family.
He currently serves as treasurer and officer of the Highland Hospital Foundation and is a member of YPO, where he previously held the role of chapter treasurer. He has held several leadership positions within the Rochester Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs, including chapter chair and state board member. He also founded and served as president of the Rochester Chapter of the CPA Candidates Association.
His past board roles include serving on the National Independent Financial Advisors Panel, the Estate Planning Council of Rochester, and SUNY Geneseo’s Business Advisory Council. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and has previously taught investments and tax law as an adjunct professor at St. John Fisher College. He is also a proud member of Oak Hill Country Club. Previously, he was a board member of the Schwab Institutional Advisory Board and a member of the TD Ameritrade Advisor Panel.
