As managing director, Matt focuses on the client experience and developing the associates in the St. Louis office. He also works with high-net-worth families, executives and business owners, creating comprehensive wealth plans customized to meet each client’s unique financial goals.

Matt has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry. He strives to simplify complex financial issues and help clients make informed decisions at every stage of their financial development.

Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, Matt worked at Moneta Group where he focused on holistic financial planning. He also served as a financial consultant at Charles Schwab for the first 10 years of his career, helping clients navigate various investment strategies.

Matt began his finance-focused education at the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University/Purdue University – Indianapolis (IUPUI). After relocating to St. Louis, he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. In addition, he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM.

Matt enjoys giving back to the community and serves as vice president and board member for Dignity Period. He has also served on the executive committee and as a board member for Miriam School from 2012 to 2019.

 

The Five Star Wealth Manager award is given by Five Star Professional. To receive the award, a wealth manager must satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria, including registration as an investment advisory representative, employment as a credentialed professional in the financial services industry for a minimum of five years, favorable regulatory and compliant history, firm review based on internal firm standards and accepting new clients.
