Experience and Education

Matt provides clients with customized wealth management solutions based on their needs to help them achieve their goals. Prior to joining Mariner, Matt was a vice president of client services and wealth management at BBR Partners, LLC, a multi-family office where he managed the overall financial plans of his clients, working closely with them on day-to-day portfolio issues and coordinating all aspects of their wealth management goals. Earlier he was a senior manager at BCRS Associates, LLC, a boutique Wall Street tax advisory firm where he managed engagements with ultra-high-net-worth individuals. He was also a manager in the New York office of HSBC Private Bank’s Wealth and Tax Advisory Services Group (WTAS) and worked in the New York Private Client Services Group of Arthur Andersen, LLP. He began his career as a law clerk to the presiding judge of the New Jersey tax court.

Matt has an LL.M degree in taxation from New York University Law School and a Juris Doctor degree from the Catholic University of America Law School in Washington, D.C., where he was an associate editor of the Law Review. He received a bachelor’s degree in history and economics from James Madison University. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey state bar associations.

Matt has served on the Village of Montebello, NY, Historical Preservation & Parks Commission since 2012.
