Experience and Education

Scott provides personalized wealth management solutions for high-net-worth individuals. He works with clients to define their goals, then designs, implements and monitors customized plans to help them reach those goals.

Prior to joining Mariner, Scott was the managing partner and CIO for Granite Investment Advisors. Prior to that, Scott worked for Choate Investment Advisors as a managing director and group heads. Before that, he worked for Marblehead Management as the president and CIO and worked at Columbia Management Group, Inc. as the senior vice president and head of the large cap value team. Before this, he worked at Colonial Management Associates as the senior vice president and head of the value team. Scott began his career at Dreman Value Management and the Bank of New York as a portfolio manager with stops at J. & W. Seligman & Company, Inc. as the senior vice president and Federated Investors as the vice president and lead portfolio manager.

Scott has appeared on several television programs including CBS News and Fox Business News. He has also been quoted in various financial media, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Yahoo Finance.

Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance with an emphasis in international business from Seton Hall University.

Personal Interests

Scott is an adjunct professor teaching graduate-level financial courses at Boston University. He is the vice president of the board of directors and a member of the executive committee for the Greater Concord Boys and Girls Club. He enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, boating, auto racing with his son and spending time with his family and dogs.
