Acquisition Marks the Firm’s First Deal of 2022, Will Add Approximately $527 Million in AUA

Overland Park, Kan. – February 15, 2022 – Mariner Wealth Advisors, a national wealth advisory firm, today announced it will acquire Miramar Beach, Fla.-based Arbor Wealth Management, marking its first deal of the new year. After closing 14 acquisitions in 2021, the deal with Arbor Wealth Management continues to scale Mariner Wealth Advisors’ operations across the U.S. while expanding its presence in the southeast. This is now the firm’s fifth office in Florida and first in the Destin area.

Arbor Wealth Management was founded in 2010 by Margaret McDowell; with sons Patrick and Andrew McDowell joining shortly thereafter, the firm has grown more than 2,000 percent since its inception. Arbor Wealth advises 430 clients who will now benefit further from a larger suite of wealth management services as part of the acquisition. Arbor Wealth’s team of young and entrepreneurial advisors, paired with its growth trajectory, will fold into Mariner Wealth Advisors’ accelerated expansion while investing in the next generation of advisors.

Arbor Wealth Management will assume the Mariner Wealth Advisors name when it joins the firm on Feb. 28, 2022, and it will continue to operate business as usual with its current team in place. This will be Mariner Wealth Advisors’ fifth office in Florida and brings its nationwide tally to 69 offices across 31 states.
