Barron’s Top RIA Firms: Barron’s awarded 2026 #5 (Mega RIA), 2025 #6 (Mega RIA), 2024-2023 #4, 2022-2020 #5, 2019 #4, and 2018 #3 rankings to Mariner based on data compiled for multiple affiliated registered investment advisers operating under the Mariner brand. The rankings reflect aggregated data from these affiliated investment advisers and do not reflect the assets or business of any individual Mariner investment adviser on a standalone basis. The 2017 #2 and 2016 #1 rankings to Mariner Holdings (MH) were based upon data compiled for MH registered investment adviser subsidiaries. Rankings for 2016-2026 were published in September of each award year and were based on June 30th data, including annual figures for the previous three years. No fee was paid for participation in the rankings; however, Mariner has paid a fee to use the ranking. The rankings are based on firm surveys, and filings with the regulatory databases were used to cross-check the data provided. The rankings are based on assets managed by the firms, technology spending, staff diversity, succession planning, and other metrics. The formula Barron’s uses to rank firms is proprietary. Beginning in 2025, Barron’s has ranked the largest registered investment advisor firms separately from its broader Top 100 RIA ranking. For the list of Mega RIAs, Barron’s selects firms that manage 2% or more of the total assets of all ranking applicants. The number of firms included in the rankings was: 20 (2016), 30 (2017), 40 (2018), 50 (2019), 100 (2020-2024), 109 (2025-2026). Top 100 Women Financial Advisors: Rankings for 2016-2026 were published in June or July of each award year based on March 31st data, including 1- and 5-year periods. Top 100 Independent Advisors: Rankings for 2019-2023 were published in September of each award year based on June 30th data, including 1- and 5-year periods. Top 1,500 Advisors (formerly Top 1,200 Advisors): Barron’s expanded its state-by-state advisor ranking from 1,200 to 1,500 advisors beginning with the 2026 ranking. Advisors are ranked and organized on a state-by-state basis. Rankings for 2016-2026 were published in March of each award year based on the previous year’s September 30th data, including 1- and 5-year periods. No fee was paid for participation in the rankings; however, some advisors have paid a fee to receive expanded profile features on the ranking website. The rankings are based on data provided by individual advisors and their firms. Barron’s publishes rankings based on regulatory databases were used to cross-check the data provided. The formula Barron’s uses to rank advisors is proprietary, but the formula features three major categories of calculations: Assets, Revenue, and Quality of practice.
