Kevin holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.

Experience and education

Kevin develops and administers research processes, monitors recommended managers and strategies and sources new ideas to fulfill client needs. He is responsible for coordinating special projects and organizing workflow for sourcing initiatives, tasks and deadlines. In addition, he also conducts ad hoc research and creates bespoke client deliverables to support advisors’ needs.

Prior to joining Mariner, Kevin was director of manager research at Newport Group, where he focused on the selection and monitoring of asset managers for qualified and non-qualified retirement plans. He also provided due diligence on investment managers and fund companies to evaluate organization strengths, investment discipline and sustainability of performance. Before that, he held the senior equity research analyst position at PNC Capital Advisors, where he conducted equity research, developed detailed company models and buy/sell stock recommendations to institutional and high-net-worth portfolio managers.

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Personal interests

Away from the office, Kevin enjoys running, playing ice hockey, coaching, volunteering and spending time with his wife and children. He is a fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Maryland Terrapins and Washington Capitals.
