Perry Giovannelli
Experience and education
Perry is responsible for the oversight and management of client relationships, striving to exceed client expectations by delivering excellent service through developing investment policy guidelines, optimizing investment portfolios, selecting investment managers, presenting performance-monitoring reports and conducting trustee education on a wide range of investment topics. He also helps to ensure clients receive accurate documentation and reports on their timeline, maintaining current knowledge of each client’s manager lineup and general market issues. Perry acts as the primary point of contact in relation to all servicing issues related to the client and is required to be proactive in communication regarding portfolios, firm and Plan issues as they arise. Perry may leverage Mariner’s colleagues as required in order to meet the clients’ varying needs.
Prior to joining the firm, Perry was senior managing consultant at The PFM Group, where he managed and advised on institutional investment portfolios, developing strategies, allocations and policies for clients. While there, he consulted on public defined benefit plans, Taft-Hartley defined benefit plans, health plans, insurance captives, endowments and foundations. Before that, he held the vice president institutional client advisor role at PNC Institutional Investments, where he oversaw discretionary management of institutional assets within open architecture platform and advised on complex fiduciary and investment governance issues.
Perry has a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a master’s degree in industrial labor relations, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Personal interests
Away from the office, Perry enjoys volunteering and is president of the board for East Suburban Citizen Advocacy, a non-profit organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities.
