Experience and education

Alexis works with high-net-worth individuals and business owners to navigate complex financial planning needs, including retirement planning, wealth preservation and multigenerational wealth transfer strategies—all with a focus on tax efficiency. She has experience analyzing equities, fixed income investments, derivative strategies and private markets funds, and her services encompass portfolio construction, selection and rebalancing. Alexis meets with clients to review performance and assess its impact on their overall financial picture, and she guides individuals through life-altering transitions such as births, deaths and divorces.

Prior to joining Farr, Miller & Washington (now Hightower Advisors, LLC), Alexis served as an associate director at Edelman Financial Engines, where she worked as a financial planner. In that role, she met with prospective clients, built lasting relationships through comprehensive financial planning and implemented investment solutions aligned with clients’ short- and long-term goals.

Before entering the RIA space, Alexis spent approximately 12 years at Charles Schwab in a variety of roles. She began as a financial consultant, later managed active trader teams and ultimately served as branch manager for Schwab’s national branch. She went on to lead two Schwab branches in Miami and Coral Gables, where she was responsible for driving performance, mentoring her team and helping advisors grow their businesses.

Alexis holds a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Personal interests

Away from the office, Alexis served in the U.S. Army for six years prior to attending college. She enjoys spending time with her children, along with her four dogs and two cats—all rescues. She has also volunteered with organizations that support members of marginalized communities, providing practical financial education to help individuals build stability and confidence in their day-to-day lives. An avid runner, she has completed multiple half marathons over the past decade and also has a particular interest in history and reading.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP^®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^®, and CFP^® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
