Paul holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®  professional and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designee.

Experience and education

Paul provides strategic leadership for his market, aligning teams, resources and culture to drive growth and enhance the client experience. He partners closely with local and regional leaders to support advisors, develop talent and ensure consistent execution of the firm’s mission and values.

Prior to joining Mariner, Paul worked as a principal and chief operating officer at Allegiant Private Advisors. Before that, he spent 30 years on Wall Street in various institutional money management roles, including partner and portfolio manager at several successful hedge funds.

Paul has a bachelor’s degree in economics and an international relations certificate from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.

Personal interests

Paul serves on the finance and investment committees of All Faiths Food Bank, a nonprofit based in Sarasota, Florida, which has been recognized as one of the top food banks in the country. He is a board member of the Sarasota Ballet, currently serving on the finance and investment committees. He is also a member of the finance committee of the Community Foundation of Sarasota and often volunteers to teach and lecture about financial literacy. In his free time, Paul enjoys food, wine, ballet, music, hiking and swimming.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP^®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^®, and CFP^® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
