Scott is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor designation.
Experience and education
Scott provides personalized wealth planning solutions for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners. He designs and implements customized wealth plans with a focus on clients’ long-term objectives. He also provides integrated planning and strategies for growing and protecting wealth, including tax and estate planning, risk management and retirement planning.
Prior to joining Mariner, Scott held the advisor position at AdvicePeriod, where he assisted in delivering comprehensive wealth management to individuals and families. Before that, he was senior director at IEQ Capital, where he was responsible for managing client relationships and assisted high-net-worth individuals and business owners. Before that, he held the vice president, wealth manager position at BNY Mellon Wealth Management. While there, he served as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals and business owners and provided comprehensive guidance on investments, trust and estate planning, tax strategies and banking solutions.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in financial planning from Alfred State College.
Personal interests
Away from the office, Scott is a member of the Orange County chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Exit Planning Institute, and the CFA Society of Orange County. He is also involved with his alma mater, Alfred State College, is on the executive board for Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) Orange County and serves on the planning committee for SER 2025 Latino Advisor Summit. He is also passionate about his two daughters, who are competitive dancers, empowering communities, fostering meaningful connections and driving transformative change.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.
