Experience and Education

Verne specializes in wealth planning, investment management and retirement planning for high-net-worth individuals, families and retirees.

Prior to joining Mariner, Verne was the head of business development and advisor engagement and consulting at Private Advisor Group. Before that, he was a senior vice president at LPL Financial, where he first led the advisory consulting business unit, then was the Southeast divisional manager of business development. He also held leadership roles at Edelman Financial Engines and SEI Investments and was a former naval officer, serving as a surface warfare officer (SWO) aboard USS Niagara Falls (AFS-3) and as the staff readiness officer for the commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet.

Verne has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky.

Personal Interests

Away from the office, Verne enjoys spending time with his family, working out, grilling with his Big Green Egg and cheering on his local Kansas City area college and professional sports teams.
