James holds the Certified Financial Analyst® designation.

Experience and Education

James works extensively with plan sponsors, supporting their defined benefit plans while also servicing some of the firm’s foundation clients. He serves his client base by optimizing investment portfolios, conducting investment manager research due diligence reviews, selecting investment managers and developing investment policy guidelines. He also focuses on preparing performance-monitoring reports and conducting trustee education on a wide range of investment topics.

Prior to joining Mariner, James held the team lead, performance reporting position at AndCo Consulting, an investment consulting firm that was acquired by Mariner.

James holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and economics, both from the University of Georgia.
