Greenwich Quality Leader Award

Prior to becoming Mariner Institutional, AndCo Consulting received the Greenwich Quality Leader Award for 2023, 2022 and 2021. This award recognizes quality leaders in institutional investment consulting services. The rankings are based on interviews with individuals from hundreds of the largest tax-exempt funds in the United States.

The Center for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX)

Our team is certified by The Center for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX) as meeting the standards described in the handbook, Prudent Practices for Investment Advisors.

The team, previously known as Mariner Retirement Advisors, has achieved this certification for five years running after meeting the standards described in the handbook.

The standards describe how an investment advisor assumes the responsibility for managing a client’s overall investment management process, which includes the selection, monitoring and de-selection of investment managers, as well as developing processes to implement investment strategies and fiduciary practices on an ongoing basis.

These practices also include maintaining a fiduciary checklist for each of our retirement plan clients to help ensure proper fiduciary governance and compliance with ERISA and implementing best practices as described by the Department of Labor. The independent CEFEX Investment Advisor certification demonstrates fiduciary responsibility at the firm, based on a best-practice standard.

*Greenwich Quality Leader Award: The 2023 award was issued in April 2024, based on data from Feb to November of 2023. The 2022 award was issued in April 2023, based on data from Feb to November of 2022. The 2021 award was issued in April of 2022, based on data from July to October 2021. Data was collected via interviews conducted by Coalition Greenwich. The 2023 award was issued to Mariner Institutional (formerly AndCo Consulting). The 2021 and 2022 awards were issued to AndCo, prior to becoming Mariner Institutional. The methodology: For the 2023 Greenwich Quality Award for Overall U.S. Investment Consulting – Midsize Consultants – Between February and November 2023, Coalition Greenwich conducted interviews with 708 individuals from 575 of the largest tax-exempt funds in the United States. For the 2022 Greenwich Quality Award for Overall U.S. Investment Consulting – Midsize Consultants – Between February and November 2022, Coalition Greenwich conducted interviews with 727 individuals from 590 of the largest tax-exempt funds in the United States. For the 2021 Greenwich Quality Award – Overall U.S. Investment Consulting – Midsize Consultants – Between July and October 2021, Coalition Greenwich conducted interviews with 811 individuals from 661 of the largest tax-exempt funds in the United States. These U.S.-based institutional investors are corporate and union funds, public funds, and endowment and foundation funds, with either pension or investment pool assets greater than $150 million. Study participants were asked to provide quantitative and qualitative evaluations of their asset management and investment consulting providers, including qualitative assessments of those firms soliciting their business and detailed information on important market trends.  The awards are not indicative of any future performance. NAPA Top Women Advisors: Advisors are typically recognized by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) in the 4th quarter of each calendar year based on nominations submitted by NAPA Firm Partners each year. In 2023, Angie Rosson was recognized as a Top Woman Advisor – Captain. In 2016-2017 and 2021, Angie Rosson was recognized as an All-Star Advisor, and in 2018-2020 Angie was recognized as a Rising Star Advisor. In 2019-2021, Tami Chavez Ledger was recognized as a Rising Star Advisor. Nominees were asked to respond to a series of questions, both quantitative and qualitative, about their experience and practice. Those questions were then reviewed anonymously by a panel of judges. Selected women were honored in three separate categories: Captains (all-stars who happen to be principals, owners, or team captains of their organizations); All-Stars (top producers who have their own practice); and Rising Stars (top producers who have less than five years of experience with retirement plans as a financial advisor). NAPA Top Retirement Plan Advisors Under 40: Advisors are typically recognized by NAPA in the 4th quarter of each calendar year based on nominations submitted by NAPA Firm Partners. For 2019-2023 Thomas Hardy is recognized on the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) list of Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisors Under 40. The individuals nominated are vetted by a panel of senior advisors from the industry based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative data submitted by the nominees. The National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Top DC Advisor Teams list is a compilation of NAPA member firms by teams, broadly defined as being in a single physical location and having at least $100 million in DC assets under advisement (AUA).
