Acquisition Adds Approximately $1.3 Billion in Assets Under Advisement

Overland Park, Kan. – January 5, 2022 – Mariner Wealth Advisors, a national wealth advisory firm, today announced that it has acquired Granite Investment Advisors. The Concord, N.H.-based firm is Mariner Wealth Advisors’ first office in the state and further expands its reach across the East Coast. This acquisition is part of the firm’s aggressive growth strategy and marks the 13^th transaction completed in 2021.

It’s a uniquely positioned deal as Mariner Wealth Advisors will simultaneously grow the local team by adding Martha Cottrill and Ed Taylor, previously with another Concord, N.H.-based firm Taylor, Cottrill, Erickson & Associates.

Granite Investment Advisors, in combination with Cottrill and Taylor, oversees approximately $1.3 billion in AUA and serves approximately 470 clients across New Hampshire. They specialize in areas such as advising healthcare professionals and divorce planning, among other traditional financial and investment planning services. These specialized services will complement Mariner Wealth Advisors’ holistic set of offerings, while Granite Investment Advisors will receive the benefit of more sustained growth under the umbrella of a nationally recognized firm with a full set of services, including tax planning and preparation, estate planning, insurance, trustee services, and more.

Granite Investment Advisors assumed the Mariner Wealth Advisors name when the deal closed on Dec. 28, 2021. These are Mariner Wealth Advisors’ 62^nd and 63^rd offices nationwide. Park Sutton Advisors acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Granite in the transaction.
