Valerie Newell received the 2016-2018 Barron’s awards when she was chairman of RiverPoint Capital Management. In 2016- 2019, she was ranked number one in Ohio in America’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors. She was ranked number 4 in 2017, number 3 in 2018 and number 4 in 2019 in Top 100 Women Financial Advisors. Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisors and Top Advisor Rankings by State are based on data provided by individual advisors and their firms. Advisor data is confirmed via regulatory databases, cross-checks with securities firms and conversations with individual advisors. Barron’s uses three major components to rank advisers: assets managed, revenue produced and quality of practice. Investment returns are not a component of the rankings because an advisor’s returns are dictated largely by the tolerance of clients. The quality-of-practice component includes an evaluation of each advisor’s regulatory record. Investment performance isn’t an explicit criterion, since client’s investment objectives differ. The scoring system assigns a top score of 100 and rates the rest by comparing them with the winner. The award is not indicative of future performance. and there is no guarantee of future investment success. For additional information, visit www.barrons.com.
