Experience and Education

As chief financial officer of the firm, Jeff is a member of the executive team that strategically guides the Mariner family of companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeff served as executive in residence at Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University. Prior to joining Pittsburg State, Jeff was president of Pitt Plastics, which at that time was a Bicknell family company. He also spent 12 years in a variety of roles at Waechtersbach USA, Inc., including seven as president and worked at Ernst & Young for two years.

Jeff has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Truman State University. He is a member of the Leadership Kansas class of 2017 and trustee of the Bicknell family holding company.

Jeff is a Kansas City Business Journal 2020 CFO of the Year honoree.

Personal Interests

Jeff was on the Pittsburg, Kansas Economic Development Advisory Committee and he is a past board member, chairman and treasurer of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and a former board member of the Mount Carmel Foundation in Pittsburg.

CFO’s in the Kansas City area were nominated by the public. A panel of independent judges, named by the Kansas City Business Journal, selected the top nine honorees. To be chosen, candidates had to be chief financial officers or hold equivalent positions in their companies, and each had to live in and work in the Kansas City Metro area. Nominees were selected from both for-profit and nonprofit companies.
