RiverPoint Capital Management Rebrands To Mariner Wealth Advisors

March 30, 2018

The Cincinnati-based wealth advisory firm maintains same team, same experience under a nationally recognized brand

Cincinnati, OH – March 30, 2018 – RiverPoint Capital Management, the #1 Advisor in the State of Ohio for the last three years as ranked by Barron’s, today announced it has changed its name to Mariner Wealth Advisors.1

Founded in 1995, RiverPoint joined the Mariner Wealth Advisors family of companies in 2012. The partnership allowed RiverPoint’s advisors to focus solely on serving clients, while gaining access to resources and professionals dedicated to tax and estate planning, risk management and business valuation, as well as back-office support. The rebrand to Mariner Wealth Advisors more accurately reflects the Cincinnati-based team’s affiliation with a national wealth advisory firm that has been ranked in the top two on Barron’s list of Top 20 Independent Advisory Firms in both 2017 and 2016.2

According to Valerie Newell, managing partner of the Cincinnati and Indianapolis locations and RiverPoint Capital Management co-founder, “The rebrand to Mariner Wealth Advisors is a natural evolution in the development of our firm, and it puts us one step closer to providing a seamless experience for all clients across the country. I am proud of the firm we’ve built over the last 15 years and I look forward to our firm continuing to grow and serve our clients as Mariner Wealth Advisors.”

Nothing about the firm’s services will change as a result of the rebrand. Clients will continue to receive the same services, delivered by the same professionals, in the same location.

1Barron’s 2016/2017/2018 Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors rankings are based on data provided by individual advisors and their firms. Advisor data is confirmed via regulatory databases, cross-checks with securities firms and conversations with individual advisors. Barron’s uses three major components to rank advisors: assets managed, revenue produced and quality of practice. Investment returns are not a component of the rankings because an advisor’s returns are dictated largely by the risk tolerance of clients. The quality-of-practice component includes an evaluation of each advisor’s regulatory record. The scoring system assigns a top score of 100 and rates the rest by comparing them with the other candidates. For additional information visit Barron’s website.

2Barron’s awarded the 2016 #1 and the 2017 #2 ranking in the Top 20 Independent Advisory Firms to Mariner Holdings based upon data compiled for Mariner Holdings’ registered investment adviser subsidiaries. Barron’s publishes these lists based upon a number of criteria, and the firms’ filings with the SEC were used to cross-check the data provided to Barron’s. The listing includes the firms’ number of clients, employees, advisors, offices and state locations. The award is not indicative of future performance and there is no guarantee of future investment success.
