Jason McElwee founded the retirement plan services division of Mariner Wealth Advisors. Over the years, he has worked with corporate clients to help them design, implement and more effectively deliver retirement plan solutions to their employees. His consultative services include helping clients choose an appropriate 401(k) platform and helping manage clients’ fiduciary responsibilities. Jason also consults with business owners and executives when nonqualified deferred compensation plans are an appropriate solution. Jason’s management duties include functioning as the senior vice president of business development, effectively overseeing Mariner Wealth Advisors’ business development team.
Jason is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) with 20 years of experience as a financial advisor. As an AIF, Jason has completed a specialized program on investment fiduciary standards of care at the Center for Fiduciary Studies, and he must strictly adhere to continuing education requirements to keep him updated on developments in the industry.
Jason is a graduate of Pittsburg State University and remains active in the community. He has served on the board of directors of several organizations, including the Salvation Army, the United Way, the YMCA, the Chamber of Commerce and the Government Review Council. In 2007, Jason was recognized as a Five-Star Wealth Manager by K.C. Magazine. This award is given to less than 3% of the wealth managers in the Kansas City area, and it is based on overall client satisfaction.
