Experience and Education

Trey specializes in providing comprehensive wealth management solutions for business owners, executives and high-net-worth families. He has more than 25 years of financial services experience.

Prior to joining Mariner, Trey spent 18 years at A.G. Edwards, where he served as a financial consultant, senior vice president and investment officer. While there, he developed wealth solutions for clients that included financial planning, retirement planning, college savings planning and estate planning.

Trey has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Financial Planners Association of Greater Kansas City.

Trey was named to Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list, ranking #8 in Kansas in 2024, #4 in 2023 and 2022 and #7 in 2021. He was named to Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisors list, ranking #2 in 2024, #3 in 2023, #6 in 2022, #3 in 2021 and #5 in 2020, also in Kansas.

Personal Interests

Trey supports the United Way and the Mariner Foundation. He also serves on the Founder’s Circle for the Global Orphan Project. In his free time, he enjoys golf, hiking and snowboarding.

Best-In-State: Advisors are selected for the Forbes rankings by SHOOK Research. Rankings for 2021 through 2024 were published in February 2021 and April 2022, 2023 and 2024 and were based on June 30^th data, including 1- and 5-year periods.

Top 1,200 Advisors: Advisors are ranked and organized on a state-by-state basis. Barron’s rankings for 2020-2024 were published in March of each award year based on the previous year’s September 30^th data, including 1- and 5-year periods.
