Tim Helsel
Director of Retirement Plan Operations
Tim Helsel is the director of retirement plan operations for Mariner Wealth Advisors. He joined Mariner in 2008 and has 25 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, including extensive experience working with qualified retirement plans on design, administration and compliance issues. He serves as the plan sponsor’s primary point of contact at Mariner, facilitating communication with record keepers and third-party administrators. He consults with clients on day-to-day plan administration and operational issues and assists with the preparation and review of IRS reporting forms.
Prior to joining Mariner, Tim worked as a third-party administrator with CBIZ/MHM in Leawood, Kansas. He began his retirement plan career in 1986 as a third-party administrator for SunTrust Bank in Orlando, Florida.
Tim is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), a national organization for career retirement plan professionals. He is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) with the Series 6 and 63, and he maintains life insurance licenses in Kansas and Missouri.
